Literature Text

I'll whisk you away
For a day
All our own.
Where the art is less concrete
Than a poem
Or a picture
Or a song,
But more beautiful
Than any of those
Could ever hope to be.
The art will simply be
Our lover's touch,
The gaze we share,
Our hearts
And our hands
Intertwined.
inspiration: Mary
this was a text message i sent to a very special someone, inspired by our discussion of the lonely life of an artist...
she deserves credit for not only being the one who inspired it, but for being the one who used the phrase "artist prison" that the title uses

Love this. Love the meaning.
Suggestion: In english this year we discussed avoiding using the "to be" verb am, is, are. If you find other alternatives to the "to be" verbs it will drastically spice up your writing. Inserting different verbs is good stuff. I've just tried it out and love it.

very nice poem. artists are a little imprisoned
